About

Lauren Martino is a New York City based artist, arts educator, and a licensed master social worker. Lauren's art and social work practice are symbiotic. Her artistic practices enable her to recharge and generate a broader capacity to serve others. The theories and emotional experiences of her social work practice generate meaning and momentum that inform the perspectives and goals of art-making.

Lauren's work examines internal landscapes projected through the boundaries between internal and external perception; the dynamic between mind, spirit/soul and body; femininity, craft, decorative arts, domestic spheres, and the meaning of home; mental health, subconsciousness, and living sensitively; and psychologically nourishing meditations on color, form, space, symbolism, and object relations.
